At 74 years old, Charlie Adams is still singing for the Lord. Charlie plays bass guitar and taught himself to play piano when a piano player was not available.

He started a gospel music theater in Fairfield, AL about 1984 and kept it going for the enjoyment of many people, sometimes at his own expense for quite a few years.

At the Saturday night premiere were gospel greats Ernie Phillips, Lee Roy Abernathy and Adams' own Waylighters Quartet.

There were also Saturday morning Christian crusades for children at the theatre.

He likes to teach how to sing parts and has done so with many of the people who have been with the Waylighters over the years.

Charlie once said that "if he goes to meet the Lord singing gospel music and holding on to his grandchildren, he would be a blessed man."
